I've a problem with a lot of mail being marked as junk for a client running Kerio Connect, so want to configure DKIM. The current host used for external email/webmail (1and1) do not provide DKIM as part of their service - they insist on being the name server for the domain.

My website however is hosted at a different web server, provided by media temple, who DO provide DKIM. I point traffic to this host using an A record. Is it possible to configure DKIM on a different server other than the primary external email server? Any work around here other than headache of migration?

Hi there

Checking with our article on DKIM (kb.kerio.com/1483) I don't think you'll be able to use DKIM in this environment.

It has to be on the MX record, and as 1and1 do not support this, I'm afraid its not possible.

Sorry about this.

I think DKIM will not significantly help you with spam, DKIM only says that the message was really sent from that domain, DKIM does not itself filter or identify spam.
I receive spams with a valid DKIM.
