I have discovered that if anyone on our email server sends an email to anyone with a Yahoo email and it has a link in it, when they receive it in Yahoo the link will be removed. It will just be converted to text. We all use the Kerio web client and I have not tried it using the Outlook connector since we don't use that and it would not be a fix for us even if it worked correctly in Outlook. I have tested different scenarios:
Email sent to Gmail
Gmail sent to Yahoo
Yahoo sent to Kerio
Links don't work
Kerio sent to Yahoo
I have checked the logs and the email is handed over to Yahoo over SSL and everything looks good with no errors. I feel that this is possibly a formatting issue in regards to Kerio, but not sure if the blame lies with Kerio or Yahoo. Anyone else run into this issue? Is there a workaround or is this a known problem with a fix in a later patch?
The issue is that the standard email format for Kerio Web Mail is
This type cannot contain any formatting and also no hyperlinks.
If you get a link in Gmail, for example, this is because Gmail detects it as a link and then formats it as a link as a convenience to the user. Yahoo does not do that.
As a workaround, you can use the old webmail and then format the link as link (using the "Chain" icon).
