Hey guys,

I'm sure ALL of us put SIP phones behind the firewall. And when we manage remote locations, we usually have to VPN to the remote network to access the web interface of a given phone ...

How cool would it be if there was a BUILT IN web interface in Operator to communicate direct to the phone, eliminating the need to VPN to the remote network?!

I would dig it. Smile

Hi,

I have to admit that it is an interesting idea, but I don't think it belongs in Operator.

By the way, why do you usually log into a phone's web interface? I believe that most of the configuration tasks can be done using template overrides or a file on the built-in tftp server.

Or maybe this could belong in Control? I just find its more common that I have to VPN to a network only to manage a phone.

This is true about the template over ride, but I find I routinely have to login to a phone interface to check status, make custom changes, or to reboot them manually.
