Hi,

Is it possible to create users and assign an extension only for receiving/sending faxes, with no handset required for the user?

These users are remote sales people who fax but do not need a handset.

When I log in as one of these users to send a fax I see a message at top left that says, Your extension is not registered.

Perhaps this is because there is no active handset on the network for the user.

Thanks,

ft.

Hi,

currently it is not possible. The user must be assigned an extension, but there is indeed no need for the extension to be registered in order to send a fax. We will try to adjust the interface to allow that.

Best

fishtech: For me it works as you described (at least with Kerio Operator 2.3.2).

- have user with not registered extension
1. login into Kerio Operator client
2. enable Fax feature in Settings (available from the right top corner - as the Logout)
3. enter the number of the fax recipient
4. click on Fax icon
5. select the PDF file
6. start faxing

Thanks... you are correct the fax is actually sent. I just discovered that!

However, the 'user without registered handset' does not get the usual visual indication that a fax is being sent in the web interface.

Also, the 'user without registered handset' does not get email confirmation of success/failure.

Many thanks.
