Hi,

Im having trouble with Apple Messages on a recently updated machine (Mavericks to Yosemite). When starting for the first time it got stuck on "Messages is updating". Tried a lot of things, but the issue remains. I'm guessing this is an apple problem, so till I work that out, I was hoping to get Adium to work, but I can't seem to get it up and running either......

Can anyone help me with the correct client settings to get the current version of Adium to work with Kerio Connect 8.3.4?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Hi,

Have you installed iMessage beta in the past? If so it could be the reason why it isn't working now. There are few threads regarding this issue on https://discussions.apple.com with a solution how to get it work again.

Configuring Adium is pretty straightforward:
1. Add new account XMPP (Jabber)
2. Use your primary email address as Jabber ID.
If XMPP related DNS records are configured properly you should be able to connect now. If not:

3. Edit the created account, click on Options tab and fill Kerio Connect server name (or its IP address) as 'Connect Server'. Leave the rest of fields intact.

If you are still unable to connect and this is the first time you are using IM on Kerio Connect server check warning/error logs for any messages related to XMPP.

Cheers,
Tomas Skoda

Hi. I unsure if she ever had iMessage beta or not. When I asked her she said she did not know what that was - so I guess the answer is maybe?

I never could get Adium to work. After reading more info found via google searches, it looks like Adium's XMPP over SSL stuff might be buggy right now, so I'm just going to set this aside and move on. Thanks for your help though!
