Hello everybody,

we have a strange behavior with Kerio Connect 8.3.4 patch 1 build 3377 running on a Mac Pro with Mac OS 10.9.3:

From time to time the pop3 download process which is fetching the mail from the external server is hanging.
Normal download looks like: (Output from debug log)

[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Receiving mail from POP3 accounts...
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Processing account 'account1@domain.com' on 'external.mail.com' >> user1<_at_>domain.com.
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Opening mailbox, authentication: APOP
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Sending APOP command
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Received APOP reply: +OK User logged in
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Sending STAT command
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Received STAT reply: +OK 0 0.
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} 0 messages (0 bytes).
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Sending QUIT command
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Received QUIT reply: +OK Closing connection
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:05][4609617920] {pop3c} Processing account 'account2@domain.com' on 'external.mail.com' >> user2<_at_>domain.com.
... same as above ...
[08/Nov/2014 10:40:06][4609617920] {pop3c} Received QUIT reply: +OK Closing connection

... go through all users ...

[08/Nov/2014 10:40:12][4609617920] {pop3c} Receiving finished.

That the normal process which is working and fetching mails from external mail server.
But from time to time (like 2-3 times in the week) the pop3c process is stucking:

[08/Nov/2014 10:50:10][4591718400] {pop3c} Receiving mail from POP3 accounts...
[08/Nov/2014 10:50:10][4591718400] {pop3c} Processing account 'account1@domain.com' on 'external.mail.com' >> user1<_at_>domain.com.

Now should be followed by "opening mailbox", but that doesn't come up. Instead after the set time the next round for grabbing mails is startet:

[08/Nov/2014 11:00:04][4598108160] {pop3c} Receiving mail from POP3 accounts...
[08/Nov/2014 11:00:04][4598108160] {pop3c} Receiving already in progress.

And as you see it couldn't be done because the previous pop3c process is still running for fetching mails.
That would go on and on all the time until there are two ways:

1.) We recognize that hanging and will manually restart Kerio process. Everything stops, newly started and then the server is running normal again. Until the problem reapears...

2.) After a long long time (here round about 1 and a half day) it claims that the external server couldn't be reached, and instantly with the next try the server is fetching mails again from the external server again:

[09/Nov/2014 23:50:09][4598022144] {pop3c} Receiving mail from POP3 accounts...
[09/Nov/2014 23:50:09][4598022144] {pop3c} Receiving already in progress.
[09/Nov/2014 23:55:22][4591718400] {pop3c} Cannot connect to POP3 server external.mail.com:995.
[09/Nov/2014 23:55:22][4591718400] {pop3c} Processing account 'account1@domain.com' on 'external.mail.com' >> user1<_at_>domain.com.
[09/Nov/2014 23:55:22][4591718400] {pop3c} Opening mailbox, authentication: APOP
... goes on with normal receiving ...

So how can we get the problem solved?
Is there something in the mailserver.cfg where I can set the timeout time for pop3 download? So the server isn't trying 1 1/2 day before giving up?
Anything else we can do? Haven't found anything in Update 8.4.0 that relates to it?

Thanks a lot!
