Hi,

In this post, I am about to share some details about what to expect in the next Kerio Operator major release, the version 2.4.

We have decided that the major topics of 2.4 should be improved SIP interfaces and improved call routing. The aim is to give the users a greater control of what is happening with their calls, especially on the outbound side.

Let me describe the upcoming changes in SIP interfaces first. We plan to shift the terminology used in the SIP interface dialog closer to what the SIP carriers are using (or at least most of them). Additionally, we would like to have a very simple dialog if your SIP configuration is simple but give users a finer control if the SIP provider expects something more. That means we will expand the SIP functionality that can be controlled from the configuration dialog.

If your SIP carrier keeps the configuration simple, and that means just 3 fields (the server address, user name, and password), then those 3 fields is all you need to see in the dialog in addition to your phone number. If the "From:" field in the SIP packets is too mundane for your provider and they expect you to provide "P-Preferred-Identity", "P-Asserted-Identity", "Remote-Party-ID", or any combination thereof, if they have multiple proxies, etc., we would like to have you covered as well.

As to call routing, we aim to give Operator administrators a finer control of what happens with outbound calls. After all, the topic in the Uservoice forum with the highest number of votes (106 as of today) asks precisely for the same thing. Our current easy solution works well for small customers but even the small offices may need a routing exception for some internal lines, perhaps sending their calls via another interface while letting them use the same dial-out prefix as everyone else, or what have you. The current solution (using the reversed inbound calls table) will still be available as one of the options and to allow an easier update from previous versions.

When it comes to the smaller new features in the planned release, there are two items that might be of some interest: The support for video calls and the addition of color themes to the Operator client interface.

We would like to publish an Alpha version of Operator 2.4 in February. It will be followed by the usual Beta and RC versions, with the final version in April or May.

As always, feel free to ask questions or comment.

Vladimir

What do you see as "normal" statistics? Something similar to Orderly Stats?

Yes.
Now, to have some statistics(for example - answered calls during a day) I need to export data to .csv file, import it to Excel, then filter data..
It's a long process Sad
That is why we are in this moment considering the issue of changing the system to line24 (not advertising).

You could integrate with an external tool - like the Orderly Stats mentioned above.

As far as I see there are a lot of restrictions in free version:
http://www.orderlyq.com/compare.html
(for example "Historical Reports")
If you purchased a paid version of the program the total cost of ownership is significantly increased Sad

A little thought and came to the conclusion that if there are problems with the statistics like the Orderly Stats, then it would be greate to see something like Filters in Excel for Call journal and lines numeration.
