We use inumbo.com

each domain get's 10 free email aliases and after that it's dirt cheap

You can even lock down the kerio SMTP to only respond to inumbo which will have a great impact on performance

We use CanIT from Roaring Penguin and have for years now. We use it for both incoming and outgoing spam filtering and the support from RP has been great.

You can do on-premise or hosted, either one works.

Thank you for all your suggestions. It was the Kerio settings I needed when using an appliance or hosted service (e.g. turn off spam completely or something else).

It looks as if spam filtering needs to be turned off completely when using either of these.

Not necessarily, although it is less confusing if you do.
