We use purchased "CA Issued" SSL Certificates with our Operator install.

We have been successfully using TLS Certificate Verification with the IOS (Apple) devices and the Kerio Softphone for IOS application without having to do anything.... IT JUST WORKS.

Android is another matter.

On Samsung Galaxy S5 (Android V5.0), the Soft-phone App does not appear to support TLS Certificate Verification either "out of the box" or even when the appropriate intermediate certificates are installed on the phone.

Error Message received:

TLS Registration Error

TLS cert is not trusted.
Install appropriate CA cert or disable the TLS cert verification.

- Android App comes with TLS CV set to YES on purchase

- Auto-configuration on android worked to create a valid profile for the App.

- TLS error occurs once the phone attempts to register.

- Disabled TLS CV, phone registers fine

- Added intermediate certificates via Android Settings/Security/Certificate Install

- Enable TLS CV, phone issues TLS error and fails to register.

We are only able to get the soft-phone to work when TLS Certificate Verification is disabled, but then what is the point?

Please advise how to properly use TLS Certificate Verification on Android devices so as to prevent MITM attacks when using encrypted communications.

Jim, it's likely that the certificate is not recognized as a valid one by the Android system or the application. Who is your certificate provider?

Komodo Certificate.

I've attached a screen print of the credentials.

Still nothing on this? It seems like there are major problems with the Android APP that no one even bothers with.

Rather disappointed this has had no response in 9 months.

Sorry for that, a new version of the Android app should be available within 2-3 weeks now.
