Dear Kerio Team,

I just discovered, that I can not create SIP user names with Upper Case letters, even lower-case alpha-numeric are accepted. Is there any reason behind this limitation?

As far as I know chan_sip, which seems to be used in Kerio Operator, as well support case sensitiveness. In my current setup usernames have upper and lower case characters for more security, so my approach was to create the same accounts in Kerio and just redirect ports to new system when it's ready.

Is it possible to change this behavior and to allow upper case letters too?

Thank you!

Best Regards,
Filip Jenicek (Kerio)

Sip usernames are indeed limited to lower case characters and in addition must start with an extension number. Reasons are historical and are probably not valid anymore.

I don't think we will add support for case sensitive sip usernames unless there is a strong reason to do so as not all devices support it (RFC3261 vs RFC2543).

The second limitation might be removed in the future versions, but to be honest, it has a low priority.
