I have a client who is using our Kerio server for a second mail domain through IMAP.
They all connect to the server directly through RDC (Not my design).
When they compose an email through IMAP the formatting is stripped out by Outlook that is installed on the server (2008R2)
POP works fine but obviously this has limitations which are not acceptable.
Interestingly, when logged on as the Administrator to the server Outlook behaves perfectly and keeps all formatting. However, as a user, even escalated to admin level, Outlook strips the formatting.
Is it possible that the administrator account is working corectly as it is the administrator and respecting the SID, whereas another user with admin rights isn't 500?
Can't think of any other reasons. I've yet to test a Windows workstation, joined to the domain with IMAP as well as the Exchange account.
The server is not responsible for the formatting - the mail is stored as msg like any other else. It's just a file copied over the internet (basically).
Install Thunderbird or another mail client on the RDC / Client system and try it with that. Outlook - depending on the version - can be quite an ass with imap.
Also it might be an idea to use the KOFF client of kerio for outlook. Way bettern then IMAP and you can use calendar, public folders etc.
