Kerio connect creates the archives emails of all users in a subfolder under Mac mini : /usr/local/.../archive
So the problem is that all emails of users are saved in a single zip file. All emails are mixed in the zip files with the extension .eml
It is just impossible to restore an email from a user because all .eml file are named with a number.
I would like to backup and archive each user mailbox separately. Is it possible ?If yes, how can I do? If not, how can I identify and restore a user email ?

We've come across the same problem and have been trialling MailStore. It looks like this software will the job and while it will take several days work to achieve, we can dump previous years of KC archives into MailStore so users will have the last three years plus their current and ongoing messages stored in a separate system they can search and manage without IT intervention.

I guess you misunderstood the archive function...

What you wanna do is made possible with the usual backup function.

There's a tool from kerio for that kind of thing. KMSRECOVERY

You can recover domains, users, special folders etc. pp.

The Archive System has a whole different meaning and it being without folders has a reason. The archive saves EVERY mail that goes in or out of the server and saves it into a zip and/or sends it to a archive mail address (with a document management system behind).

The reason behind it is for evidence in case of a lawsuit of the company and/or - depending on the law - the company is forced by law to archive all communication. Like in Germany, you need to save all communication with a customer up to 10 years.

Our users save all "older" mails into archive folders in their mail account, to keep the mailbox free and fast. Those are saved to the backup, so recovery is no problem. If there is no problem with space, that should be the way to go.

If you need to recover mails from 3 years past, something REALLY wrong happened.

And Mailstore is just another Backup solution like Kerion - no archive (as far as I saw on their product page)
