I like to only allow emails going out and coming over ports 465 & 587. I am just wondering if that is a good practice and if there are any culprits in doing that? Is there a written procedure to set this up?

I am also having a few accounts that receive a lot of spam about 5 - 8 spam mails per hour and I cannot seem to get it under control. I tweaked all Spam setting multiple times but its seems to make no difference.

Email delivery between SMTP servers is ONLY over port 25. Other ports cannot be used. For clients you can use SMTP Submission 587. Port 465 is obsolete and used very rarely.
