Hi,

i have a problem with the DNS in Kerio Control 8.6 Patch1. If i connect the the "WLAN1" Interface with a client, the client use the DNS from the WLAN.Gast interface. I donĀ“t see whats wrong in the setup. Here are my settings:

Interface settings:

Interface Name: WAN
IP: 192.168.178.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.178.1 (Modem with DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
DNS:192.168.178.1
Interfacegroup: Internet Interface

Interface Name: WLAN1
IP: 10.255.250.1/24
Gateway:
DNS: 8.8.8.8;8.8.4.4
Interfacegroup: trusted interface

Interface Name: WLAN.Gast
IP: 10.255.255.1/24
Gateway:
DNS: 208.67.222.222;208.67.220.220
Interface group: guest interface

DHCP Settings for WLAN1 Interface:
Range 10.255.250.11 - 10.255.250.254
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.255.250.1
DNS: 10.255.250.1

DHCP Settings for WLAN.Gast
Range 10.255.255.11 - 10.255.255.254
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.255.255.1
DNS: 10.255.255.1

Anyone can see, whats wrong with the settings?

Trusted Interface and Guest Interface should not have any Default GW.

Default GW must be setup only on the Internet interfaces. Which I don't see here. So I just guess you're using the interfaces incorrectly.

Hello Petr,

sorry you are right. I have mixed the dhcp with the network settings in the topic. In the setup for the interfaces the gateway is blank. I have correct it in my first topic and inserted the WAN Interface settings. But the problem still exists.

DNS servers on Trusted or Guest interfaces are also unnecessary.
Clients get DNS server from DHCP and Control use DNS servers defined on WAN interface.
