Hi,

We started doing business with a 3rd party who just had his email server/account hacked.

We want to continue to do business with him but need to ensure we are receiving email from him, not some hacker.

Asking the sender to encrypt email and giving us the public key should allow us to verify it is him sending (unless his actual computer is hacked), right?

We use Apple's Mail app on OSX and iOS. Doe the public certificate need to be installed individually on all devices, or can it be installed once on the Connect server to apply as a "gateway" for all users who may contact this guy?

Thanks,

ft.

The certificate needs to be installed in a Keychain on all devices. Or you can add it into public contact folder to sender contacts and have all users to sync public contacts to their Macs. Once they have a public key for this sender they can verify authenticity of the message.
