Yesterday we upgraded our Kerio Connect test-server to version 8.5.3. Problems, that we had recently with Kerio and its meetings calendars have been fixed but now we are messing around with a new problem in combination with Outlook 2011 (Mac). I wouldn't say a major problem, but it is kind of annoying. The forwarding option, that is provided by Outlook does not work properly.

This is how to reproduce this failure:

1. Create a new meeting in Outlook as user1 f.ex. (connected via Kerio Connector to your Kerio user
account)

2. Send an invite for this meeting to user2 -> Accept this invite

3. Forward the invite to user3

Result: User3 gets an e- mail, like user2, but it just gets informed. There isn't any
option to accept it or to answer to this e- mail.

Hey Cookie,

Are you forwarding the invite you sent to user 2 or are you going into the event and adding user 3 as an attendee and re-sending the invite?

All the best,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,

let me add a more detailed description.

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Install Kerio Connect 8.5.3 for Red Hat Linux and get a MacOS 10.11 client with Outlook 2011 installed. Apply latest patches to Outlook 2011 and MacOS.
  2. Login to Kerio Connect admin interface and create 3 local users: test1, test2 and test3
  3. Configure the MacOS client's Outlook 2011 for use with the account test2.
  4. Open the Kerio Connect web interface and login with test1. Create a new meeting and invite test2.
  5. As test2, open Outlook 2011 and open the new meeting from your calendar. Please note the "Please respond" text. Right click on the new meeting and select forward. Forward the meeting to test3.

Current result:
  • test3 is unable to answer the meeting request. Please note the "No response required" text.
  • The meeting is shown in test3's calendar
  • The feature to forward a meeting is missing in the Kerio Connect web interface.

Expected result:
  • User test3 can accept or decline the meeting invitation.
  • User test1 is correctly informed about the answer of test3.
  • The feature to forward a meeting is available in the Kerio Connect web interface.

We also have tickets about this functionality not working correctly with Outlook 2010 for Windows and Outlook 2016 for Mac.

Greetings from Germany.

Hey Vicky,
There hasn't been a reaction/response for a while, even though we posted a detailed answer to your question.
Are there any news regarding this problem?

Greetings from Germany.

Hi Cookie,

In the forums we try to help out when and were we can and we can't always come back to a forum post straight away. If you ever need a quick answer from Kerio support feel free to raise a support ticket with us as you get a standard response time of no later than 2 business working days.

In regards to your issue I do not believe that forwarding an event to a user that wasn't invited is going to work if user 3 needs to be invited to the event then user 1 needs to invite them upon creating the event. All that user 2 is doing is sending user 3 a copy of event as user 3 was not invited to the event.

If you wish to discuss this further please open a support ticket with us.

All the best,
Vicky
