On my local network, I enabled http authentication required, which works fine for all Windows PCs, but one IMAC stalls trying to find the Winroute host. I have tried going to the IP address and it does not come up. DNS appears to be pointed correctly.

Did you read the manual? See the section 'Firewall User Authentication':
Users can connect:

manually — in the browser user will open page http://server:4080/fw/login

(the name of the server and the port number are examples only — see chapter Web Interface and User Authentication)

redirection — by accessing any Web site (unless access to this page is explicitly allowed to unauthenticated users — see chapter URL Rules)

using NTLM— if Microsoft Internet Explorer is used and the user is authenticated in a Windows NT domain or Active Directory, the user can be authenticated automatically (the login page will not be displayed). For details see the User Authentication Options section.

Yes, but apparently missed something. The IP/4080/fw/login set to the home page worked, it just will not automatically do it. The user has to set that as the login page and then select the url they want to go to. All Windows users can have anything as a home page and it will request the lgin page first and then take them to their page.
