My trial license for Control Software Appliance v8.6.2 is about to expire and despite some idiosyncrasies and functionality issues I've been able to work around, I've decided to purchase a license. However, I've got a few of questions.

1/ If Kerio Control v8.6.2 were purchased today, can it be upgraded to the upcoming release of Control v9.x? Are major revisions covered by the software maintenance service? Is there a proposed release date for version 9.x?

2/ Can an original installation of v8.6.2, upgraded to v9.x, be downgraded if problems occur after the upgrade?

3/ Does a yearly renewal of software maintenance include renewal for add-on services originally purchased? For example, if Control + Sophos Antivirus were originally purchased, would a maintenance renewal also renew the antivirus service? If not, what is the additional per user cost to maintain the antivirus service?

4/ Will the licensing policy of version 9.x remain the same (5 device addresses/user and non-subscription functionality beyond maintenance term)?

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Licensing model is current but we reserve the right to listen to our customers and partners needs and make changes in the future. As an example, the NG100 box has a different license model.

Hello, thank you for choosing Kerio Control!
1. Yes, of course you can upgrade to version 9 when it becomes available (should be some time in December).
2. Yes, you can always downgrade to previous versions. You can find them at
3. Yes, the renewal includes your extensions. When you purchase the renewal, the extensions are combined with the license.
4. Yes, and version 9 allows up to 10 IPv6 addresses (in addition to 5 IPv4 addresses) per each user.
If you do not renew your maintenance the product will continue to function but without updates to IPS and AV, and you will not be able to install new versions of Kerio Control.
