So I can't believe I have not run into this before but ran into it today with a client. When setting up contacts on the iPhone using carddav and the assistant it seems like all contacts get lumped into one "bucket". However on the contacts app on the computer there is a clear separation between private and public.

On the iPhone, how can you decide where contacts go into when creating a contact? The main problem in this case was the user had write access to the public folder so when he was entering a contact it was going into public and then all users were seeing it.
