We have a sip trunk with a limited amount of channels. Is it possible for people trying to dial out to receive a message, either a recorded voice or on the lcd display (yealink phones), when there are no lines available? We don't want users to get the standard "service unavailable" and think there is an issue with the system. It would be good as well to be notified by email when all lines are taken.

Because I've not run into this before, can you specify whether the "Service Unavailable" voice is the robo-man voice, or is it something female and a bit more pleasant?

If it's the latter, then the message is most likely coming from the SIP provider. If it's robo-man, then it's most likely coming from Operator (and we'll continue the conversation somehow).

There is a setting in the Call Routing-->Interfaces box on the Advanced tab that you may want to try. At the very top, you have the ability to set a limit to the number of concurrent calls.

If you set that value to be equivalent to the number of concurrent calls allowed by your SIP provider, what happens when the qty is exceeded?

I have not actually set up this sip trunk yet, but I will do this and get back to you.

Thanks
