Hi,

One of the features to appear in Operator 2.5 is the possibility to call from the Operator Client web interface. The Operator team is working on this feature right now.

The one thing that makes us scratch our heads is this: What should be the name of the feature? Technically, it's based on WebRTC, but we don't see the term "WebRTC" as a user-friendly name.

I've decided to ask you, Kerio Operator users. What name would you use for the calling from the browser?

Feel free to post here or contact me using a PM or e-mail.

Thanks for your help!

Vladimir

I'd say 'WebCall' also... even before reading previous uposter's comment.

'WebCall' explains it all to users.

Vladimir,

How does the new feature differ from the existing Click to Call browser plugin?

The click to call will ring your desk phone. So you initiate the call from a browser, but proceed with the conversation from your desk phone. With WebRTC, you initiate the call, and maintain the conversation using only your web browser.

I guess I am confused by "maintain the conversation using only your web browser".

Does this mean the desk phone is not used and the PC becomes a soft phone?

Yes...the call takes place entirely in the web-browser using WebRTC (https://webrtc.org/)

NativeCall - I think WebCall is a SimProvider.
