Hi Mal,

By default Kerio Connect supports a maximum of 1000 connections for IM.

There is also a default maximum of 100 connections per IP address.

You can find and modify these settings in your mailserver.cfg file. Which is found in the following locations depending on your OS:
  • Windows: C:\Program Files\Kerio\MailServer
  • Mac: /usr/local/kerio/mailserver
  • Linux: /opt/kerio/mailserver

Here is an excerpt of the relevant section:

<table name="service-xmpps">
  <variable name="Port">5223</variable>
  <variable name="AutoStart">1</variable>
  <variable name="Acl"></variable>
  <variable name="MaxConnections">1000</variable>
  <variable name="MinWorkersCount">0</variable>
  <variable name="MaxWorkersCount">0</variable>
  <variable name="MaxSpareWorkers">2</variable>
  <variable name="MaxTasksHandled">0</variable>
  <variable name="ShutdownTimeout">300</variable>
  <variable name="RecvTimeout">120</variable>
  <variable name="SendTimeout">120</variable>
  <variable name="MaxConnectionsIP">100</variable>
  <variable name="NoLimitAcl"></variable>
  <variable name="Guid">fd726918-d4c5-4968-8ae3-2794adf810a6</variable>

To modify the values please do the following:
  1. Stop Kerio Connect.
  2. Edit the mailserver.cfg file using a text editor.
  3. Save the changes.
  4. Start Kerio Connect.

All the best,
