Good morning.

I have configured a Kerio Connect mail server, and because we suffered of several Internet outages, we would like to still enjoy our in-house mail server with Kerio (great software!) along with an external mail provider on the cloud.

So it will work in this way: external mail provider (cloud) -> Kerio connect -> clients.

In this case Kerio Connect will work as a mail client, would pick-up the mail on the cloud (of course we will have the same email boxes on the cloud and on Kerio Connect) and then the clients will point to Kerio Connect.

Our cloud provider said yes, we can do it.

On the Kerio connect side, how to configure it? We found ETRN but it seems it is not useful in our case.

Thank you.

You can use the POP Download functionality (Kerio > Configuration > Delivery > Pop Download),that if your cloud provider supports pop connections.

Goto:
Configuration > SMTP Server > SMTP Delivery

Now add a SMTP Relay by clicking on the Add button.
Add the SMTP server of your Cloud provider

Hello again.

In regards of using Kerio as client mail server, POP3 is working fine.

We are still experiencing problems with SMTP, as we usually get this error message:

<servizioictbkp<_at_>gmail.com> (smtp.sit-italy.com: 535 5.7.0 ...authentication rejected)

We talked with the Cloud service and they said that this message wasn't delivered to them so it should be something wrong in the Kerio configuration.

Any hint?

Thank you.

Hi,

Have you configured username, password and auth type in SMTP DELIVERY -> [SERVER NAME] -> SMTP relay settings?

We used to use configuration with externam mailserver for many years without any problems. POP3 dnld for incoming emails (little bit frustrating becouse you have to configure every account there) and SMTP DELIVERY for outgoing messages (it used to look little bit different in Kerio 8.X where I had this working).

On our provider side it was necessary to reconfigure security settings to allow that single account I had in "relay server settings" send emails as every user from our somain.

But it used to work perfect!
