I've been fiddling around with Chat since updating to v9.1. I know there will be mixed opinions on whether chatting will be a useful tool or time-waster within my organization. I'm concerned about how I can manage chatting.

So far it looks like chatting is an all or nothing feature that is managed at the domain level. I know that the user themselves can control whether they are available for chat but is it possible for the admin to turn it on/off by user/group?

The same problem. I can't disable chat via webclient. I disabled services, I set user policy with disabled XMPP. But users may chat via webclint without limit.
How can I disable chat ? How can I control chat ?

Try to look at Settings / Chat option. Or you can disable Chat in email domain setting for all users in a domain.
XMPP is different service, inter-connected with Chat but it does not control Chat component visibility.

To be more correct: I can disable chat for domain, but can't control users.

Not in administration. Users can disable it themselves in Kerio Connect Client settings.

Please consider adding the CHAT control to the Admin Console for the User or Group settings in a future release. I think alot of the larger deployments of Kerio Connect could benefit from this to allow controlling it at the department level from within the Admin Console.

Keep up the great work!.

Thank You
