I've got a .cer from a client and want to make a contact .eml file out of it (to send an encrypted mail to the client). I tried many formats but none was working.

The .cer file looks like that:

This is someone's Digital Certificate and if you have a contact for this person Kerio Connect will automatically save this certificate with the contact. You can use it to send them an encrypted messages. You can do this in Kerio Connect Client, however you have to first initialize your certificate store and install your own Digital Certificate. Instructions are available in our KB http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/email-clients/keri o-connect-client/encrypting-messages-in-kerio-connect-client -1579.html

Best ways are:
- Ask that person to send you a signed S/MIME message and open that message in Kerio Connect Client. Secure messages store needs to be initialized first.
Or.
- Create a contact for that email address in Outlook with Kerio Outlook Connector and add a certificate to the contact.

Hi Brian, thank you for your quick answer. I've done already theese things and its working fine. I can reply to a signed email. But normally I don't get any signed emails. I have the name and email address of the client and can download his public key (.cer file). Then I create a new contact, but there is no possibility to add the contact's certificate. How can I manually add the certificate to the contact's .eml file on the Kerio mail server?

Hi Pavel, I tried your second suggestion (Create a contact for that email address in Outlook with Kerio Outlook Connector and add a certificate to the contact). The contact is now in Kerio. But the certificate that I added to the Outlook contact is not included to the Kerio contact. Does it perhaps depend on the version of Outlook?

I tried with Outlook 2016 and Kerio Connector. Now the contact is stored in Kerio folder within the certificate. But there is no green icon, if I create an encrypted email to this contact. What can be the problem?
