Dear all,
our Kerio Operator is up and running.

We are 90 % satisfied with this solution.

There is still a sound quality problem open. Which is the best codec we can use?
I think the sound quality is something like the mobile phone.

Best Regards,

The "best codec" must always balance between audio quality, compatibility and bandwith.

Probably best solution for local calls is G.711 (a-law in Europe, u-law in USA):
- has quite good quality
- is on all devices
- in LAN you transfer ~128kbit/s easy

The "best codec" is something that varies from user to user, device to device, PBX to PBX...
depends on phones which you use, call route (outside of your LAN or not), your internet connection quality and speed...

You can look at http://toncar.cz/Tutorials/VoIP/VoIP_Basics_Overview_of_Audi o_Codecs.html

You do not write which calls have low audio quality - 1-st try it locally, from phone to phone without calling "outside". If there is difference in quality between "local" calls and calls "outside" of PBX, probably your internet line is not sufficient (try codec with higher compression). Try also various phones - there are various various handsets with bigger or smaller speaker...

Sorry but there is many variables which have impact to sound quality...

You can use the Calls screen in Operator's admin console to see which codecs are being used. If the call quality is similar to mobile network, the client is probably using the GSM codec.

The quality is the same, phone to phone in our LAN or phone to phone to others in our country.
Bandwith is not really a problem here in our office, so I can try best ones.
