We can confirm that after an update to Firefox 49.0 on both Linux and Windows machines the cursor to start typing text will be at the bottom of the email vs. the top in the Connect client. As it stands there isn't a way to fix it other than rolling back to Firefox 48 and turning off auto update.

I noticed this too (Firefox 49.0.1 on Windows 10 Pro). Restarting Firefox fixes it for a short time, but eventually the cursor starts going to the bottom again.

It's still a problem in Firefox v52.

It's very consistent. When you initially start Firefox, select an email and you click on reply, the new email opens in a separate window and the cursor is positioned at the top of the email ready for text input.

When you select a second email to reply to, the new email opens in a separate window but the cursor is located at the bottom of the email, in my case at the end of the signature text.

All succeeding new emails will have the cursor show up at the bottom as well. Only restarting Firefox will change it back to the top but only for one new email.

I have found that if you open the email you want to reply to first and then click on reply, the cursor will be at the top each time but this is cumbersome to open each email.

I've searched through the Firefox About:Config settings but have been unable to find any thing that would change this behavior so I have to assume it's in the Kerio code.

This issue does not afflict Internet Explorer or Chrome.

Hello.

My organization is also experiencing this issue with the cursor going to the bottom when replying to an email using Firefox.

The first time you reply, the cursor is at the top. On all subsequent replies to any email, the cursor is at the bottom.

We currently use Firefox ESR and have rolled back to 45.5.1 for all users. 45.5.1 is the newest version of Firefox ESR that does not have this problem. All newer versions of ESR and non ESR have this problem.

This issue has been happening through multiple recent versions of Kerio Connect mail server. We are currently running Kerio Connect 9.2.3.

The original post is from September 2016. Has anybody come up with a way to resolve this issue?

I wish there was a resolution. It's incredibly annoying. The only option I've come up with other than rolling back is to put those users who use webmail on the Connect Client. My issue is that I'm on a linux workstation so I don't have the option of moving to the client.

It looks like this has been introduced with FF 51. It is an intentional change to follow the HTML5 standards:

https://www.fxsitecompat.com/en-CA/docs/2016/caret-will-be-p laced-at-the-end-when-textbox-automatically-gets-focus/

I guess Kerio would have to change their code to get this working again.

Thank you for posting the link to the article.

Im guessing we arent the only people using Kerio and newer versions of Firefox. How do we go about suggesting to Kerio that they should resolve this issue?

Please open an incident with Kerio and report it as a bug. As it is easily reproducible, this should be no problem to log.

I created a new case with GFI/Kerio. I will report back if I get any new information.

Hello. Have any of you updated to 9.2.4? Do your users still have this problem?

The technical support rep at GFI/Kerio that I have been working with does not have an update from the developers yet. I'm just curious if 9.2.4 resolved the issue or not. Thank you for the information.

I have not updated but there isn't anything in the build notes that points to a fix. I suspect they would include that fix.

Still happening to me on Firefox 54.0.1 on KC 9.2.4.

Plus, as discussed in another thread, links in email have a tendency to break in Kerio Connect Client in all browsers if they contain an '&'.

Thank you for the replies. Hopefully, Kerio can come with a solution.
