Initial situation
User 1 - extension 10
User 2 - extension 11
User 3 - extension 12 (with simultaneous call forwarding to 5 mobile phones)
Call Queue with extension 50 with user 1 -> user 2 and call forwarding to user 3 if queue timeout has been reached
All 5 mobile phones are ringing when the call queue timeout has been reached (everything is fine)
BUT:
If one of the mobile phones has no signal (-> switching to voicemail of the provider) the call ends on the other 4 mobile phones, because it looks like the call was answered.

Is there a option to configure a message on the mobile phones like confirming that the call was really answered by the agent? E.g. FreePBX is able to handle this. The agent can confirm the call on his mobile with a dtmf tone (by pressing 1 for example).

Thanks

Hi,

your description of the problem is very accurate.

Currently there isn't a simple solution except of disabling voicemail on the mobile phones or setting the agent timeout to a small value.

We will consider doing something about it in the future versions.

Thank you,
Filip

Hi Filip,

thank you for the answer. It would be nice to have a solution for that.

This type of forwarding is difficult to handle because we lose a lot of functionality when forwarding calls to the PSTN. Alternatively you might consider either using the Kerio Operator Softphone on those mobile devices or asking the caller to leave a message with the expectation that they will receive a call back shortly. The voicemail can be forwarded by email, which can then be converted to an SMS message to immediately notify each of those 5 mobile phones.

We also need this feature urgently for our emergency service!!! Wink

I can not understand why there is a big problem to implement this function. On FreePBX you can see how this was implemented. Asterisk also offers this capability with its own function "follow_me" (as written on http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cmd+FollowMe).

As long as there is no such function in Operator, we have forwarded our emergeny calls to a second PBX (FreePBX), where the calls are being processed.

So you have my vote +++ for this!
