We are running a Kerio connect server in our DataCentre. At the moment we are hosting mail accounts for 450 customers. Mailboxes are ranging from 1GB to 50GB and we are using 2.5TB of mail data at the moment.

Last year we upgraded our Storage backend to an 12 bay 10K iSCSI unit and all was fine, this year we added around 50 new customers so 50 new mailboxes. Performance has been getting worse especially when the server has been up for more than 30 days.

We are running Kerio connect 9.1 on a MacOS X host ( mac mini i7 QC) I know MacOS X is not the best solution due to overhead and instability combined with Kerio Connect.

I have reviewed the best practices for Kerio Connect and it states that a mailbox in Kerio Connect can be around a couple of GB depending on the amount of users.

Is Kerio Connect suitable for a hosted deployment with 450 customers with an average mailbox size of 20GB? If not, what are the best options besides of adding more hardware? Is migration to kerio connect cloud an option?

You should review our hosting guide at http://kb.kerio.com/product/kerio-connect/hosting/kerio-conn ect-hosting-guide-1257.html
It will provide you with guidance so that you can make decisions based on the constraints of your specific environment and business requirements.
