There is still an ongoing problem with invitees when CalDAV is used. One of my clients can't invite her colleagues when the calendar is added in Calendar.app on MacOS when the account is configured as a CalDAV-account. In webmail and on the iPhone (Exchange) it works as expected. Adding the account as Exchange on the Calendar.app is not preferred due to various reasons.

I noticed on the server in her account in the folder "Calendar" that the file "properties.fld" is missing. All of the accounts of the colleagues who have a working invitee-field there is a properties.fld file. Is this the reason she can't invite other people? Is there a way to add this file? Re-indexing didn't work.

We're having this same issue, though I'd never thought to look for that user/Calendar/properties.fld file. I have a longtime user and a brand new user made today, and properties.fld is missing from both their accounts. Neither can add invitees using Mac Calendar (on El Capitan). In Kerio Connect and iPhone, it works just fine.

I tried just doing `touch properties.bad` and reindexing the folder, but nothing changed for the account.

Calendars losing connection on even our working Mac users has been a near-constant struggle since we updated to El Capitan last year, so anything anybody knows to track down and solve this would be thanked quite a bit! I have another dozen users to add in the next couple weeks, so a solution would be grand.

If you setup the CalDAV settings manually using the Advanced option, you should be able to start inviting recipients again. Here's a screenshot of how to enter the settings.

I am seeing this too. Manual setup of CalDAV account "works" but then there is no way to add invitees to events. If I try and change the port setting to anything else, or disabling SSL (like in the screen shot in the previous post) the setting reverts to 8443, with SSL enabled.

You MUST choose the Advanced option, and plug in the server path, etc.

Strangely when setting up a CalDAV account manually, and not Advanced (both in macOS 10.11 and 10.12) iCal sets the server path starting with cardDAV, and not calDAV. I'm sure there is a logical explanation for this but its quite baffling.
