A user left the company. I want to have incoming email to that user forwarded to a different user.

Will forwarding happen if "Account is enabled" is unchecked, ie. if the account is disabled?

I believe so, if you create an incoming rule in the message filters.

Create an alias for the old email address and have it forward the email to a different email address.
