Hi

We are trying to connect Filemaker Pro to Kerio Operator so that users can make calls simply by clicking on the phone number stored in the Database. Seen a few discussions on this Forum about this but it was only done with Outlook. Is there a way of doing it directly through the API?

Hi,

I do this in FileMaker with Snom desktop phones by sending a cURL request directly to the user's phone as follows:

http://account:password<_at_>desktopphoneaddress.com/command.htm?number=numbertodial

where

account= desktop phone's admin account name
password = desktop phone's admin account password
desktopphoneaddress = ip address of phone on network
numbertodial = desired phone number

Our phones have fixed IP addresses and we maintain an asset list of desktop-phones-allocated-to-users. That list is related to the currently logged-in user in FileMaker.

Has worked great for years, but I have never really looked at the API and it may be better. Please let us know if you find a neat way to do it via API.

Thanks,

ft.

Hi,
We've found how to do this through PHP api and have made a simple PHP file which you can post URL variables to make calls via the insert from URL command in filemaker.

do you have custom web publishing installed on your FM server setup?
