When I dial an invalid number on our GXP 2130, the connection just closes, thre is neither a message nor tone. We would expect hearing an error tone (in Austria this is three consecutive tones with ascending frequency).
Or, at least, the phones should show an error message on the display.

Do I need to configure this somewhere in the Template overrides?

(The Kerio web client, in such cases, displays "service unavailable".)

When you say reset, the phone reboots, or the dialer just quits?

I would assume this behavior is what the phone does when the number dialed doesn't match the dial plan. That would make it an issue with the phone's default behavior.

I hear a soft crack in the receiver, then the display of the phone goes back to its normal state (as if I had hung up).

I do not think it is a matter of the dial plan, because this also happens for numbers with a totally valid format (i.e. I start to dial a valid number, just exchange the last two digits to make it invalid).
