Hi,

I ran into a serious issue with KC 9.2.4. After upgrading to IOS 11 final (Golden Master) none of the devices can reply to any emails on Active Sync accounts. Creating new emails works!

Once I reply to an email and hit „Send", I immediately get the error message „Rejected by the server". Deleting and recreating the email account does not help. Other non-Kerio accounts are not affected.

I try to provide logs tomorrow and open a ticket. That's a major one. Anyone else seeingbthecsame issue?

Thanks for this report. iOS11 will be rolling out on 19-Sep-2017, i.e. in less than a week.

Please keep us posted with the progress of the support case.

Many thanks.

Yes, will do! That's why I mentioned that's critical! In 6 days millions of IDevices will go to IOS11. I have no clue why this wasn't tested before by Kerio, the dev betas have been out since weeks.

Hi all

We are following this very closely. We are evaluating all of the options possible in order to have a smooth transition for our customers. Please note that this is NOT an Kerio Connect issue. The issue relies in iOS 11

More details are below.

Hi Ian,

thanks for update.

Strange thing ... Same device on IOS11 does not work with Connect 9.2.3 / 9.2.4 ... but works with Exchange, O365 and other products using ActiveSync.

Only difference (from my view) is that Connect provides ActiveSync Version 14.1 and all others Version 16 or 16.1.

Thank you very much for the status update, Ian!

Do you think you guys (which I think are ways more flexible than Apple) can identify what's going wrong and maybe provide a workaround? The dev forum posts do not give much hope this is fixed on short term on the Apple side Sad

As there seem to be some working configurations / servers where this issue does not appear, it might be something we can work around (hopefully).

I'd appreciate if you can keep us closely posted here.

<offtopic>
Can we PLEASE get Steve back!!! IMO the software was of much better quality and well tested in these days. Confused

This is a known issue on Server2016

All,

Apple has announced that iOS 11 will be released to the public on Tuesday, September 19th.

Normally, this is a wonderful occasion because companies such as Apple provide fixes and features that make our lives better! Unfortunatly, iOS 11 is going to introduce issues for a lot of customers running Windows Server 2016.

We have been testing the BETA releases of iOS 11 for a couple of months and are working with Microsoft and Apple to resolve the issue but, unfortunately, the issue still exists with the Golden Master (GM) release of iOS 11.

The high-level overview of the issue is that Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) users will not be able to REPLY to, or FORWARD, messages with attachments from the default Mail app on iOS 11. Please understand that this is NOT a SmarterMail issue but an iOS 11 and Windows Server 2016 compatibility issue that affects ALL versions of SmarterMail as well as other mail servers and services, including Microsoft Exchange Server customers using Windows Server 2016.

If you are using Windows Server 2016, please read further for a more detailed explanation and workaround:

The cause of the issue is related to the implementation of HTTP/2 in either Windows Server 2016 or in iOS 11. HTTP/2 is a major revision of the HTTP network protocol used for communication across the internet. Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 both implement, and default to, HTTP/2 versus the more legacy HTTP/1.1. With iOS 11, Apple is now using HTTP/2 because Windows Server 2016 supports it.

If your mail server is running and older version of Windows Server, you will not see this problem as iOS 11 will continue to use HTTP/1.1.

As a workaround, system administrators can modify the Windows Server 2016 registry to "act as" previous versions of Windows Server, essentially telling iOS 11 to use the HTTP/1.1 protocol. The following keys would need to be modified AND the server rebooted:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Pa rameters
EnableHTTP2Tls REG_DWORD 0 -- the default is 1
EnableHttp2Cleartext REG_DWORD 0 -- again, the default is 1

Again, this is ONLY necessary if your mail server is running Windows Server 2016. NOTE: Editing the registry should be handled by someone with experience. If you aren't comfortable with making registry changes , open a ticket with our support team.

We are going to continue reaching out to Microsoft and Apple to help them resolve the issue. We will update our customers when we have more information.

We hope this information helps you continue to provide seamless mail services for your customers.

Thank you for using SmarterTools products!

Not sure about this, ComputerBudda.

I'm running Kerio ActiveSync via a NGINX reverse proxy. So I've added:

proxy_http_version 1.1;

to my directives. Unfortunately no change!

While this might be true for "SmarterMail" I am not sure if it is applicable to Kerio Connect? Kerio Connect is not using IIS as a web service but its own web server.

I have anlyzed Kerio 9.2.3 traffic. Kerio Connect only supports HTTP/1.1. So HTTP/2 cannot really be the issue (unless iOS 11 sends HTTP/2 traffic even if KC announces that it is only capable of HTTP/1.1).

Hi@Kerio/GFI,

any news here? Workarounds? In less than 24 hours IOS11 hits the ground ...

At least it'll be nice if IMAP push would be fixed, there are currently no working alternatives left in conjunction with Kerio Connect if you need push.

Hi

All tests that we have done have succeeded, and so far we have been unable to reproduce it.

We suspect this is due to Certificate Based Authentication. Are you using such a setup please?

We can reproduce the issue also with correct certificates, on some accounts it works .. on others not.

Our local distributor told us (via newsletter) ... the problem is known and you (GFI) are in touch with apple.

Whats right now ?

AND

IMAP Push is not working since weeks
