Hello,

I cannot install the update Kerio Connect 9.2.5 on a Windows PC. The previous version is Kerio Connect 9.2.4. The following error message appears:"A higher version of Kerio Connect is already installed. The installation is aborted."

Just uninstall the old version, and then install the new version, or wait for a new setup version?

It would be nice if the version had been provided in "Home / Kerio Betatesting Program / Kerio Connect - beta" to detect such errors before a general release.

Many greetings
Jens Osterwohldt

I have the same error message when I try to do a manual install under Windows.

I have also tried upgrading via the admin console which has also failed.

I have turned on Update Checker Activity messaged in the Debug log and I'm trying the admin console update again.

I will post back here once it succeeds or fails again.

I'm on the beta testing group & have seen no betas of this new version.

Failed here as well, only managed to install by removing the software using add/remove in control panel then doing the install.

If you do this don't forget to make sure you are NOT removing your message store or configuration!

Not a good showing after so long has passed with serious bugs present in 9.2.4

There is a simple reason why the update doesn't work:

Open the properties of both installers (EXE files) and switch to the details.

Product version of kerio-connect-9.2.4-3252-win64.exe = 9.2.3252 (higher)

Product version of kerio-connect-9.2.5-323-win64.exe = 9.2.323 (lower)

Beside this "mistake" I think it's time to recommend other solutions to my clients. Since GFI's acquisition support for paying customers has become a joke.

Wow. Just wow. This means there has not be any testing before releasing the update.
This does not bode well. It's probably time to look for an alternative to Kerio Connect, and that is a real, real pity.

9.2.5 Patch 1 update now available via admin console (not available to download for manual install yet).

I just performed the update ... it failed after uninstalling my current version (9.2.4).

I had to find the updater in KerioStoreFolder/tmp/downloads & run it to complete the install - this has finally worked although the Kerio AntiVirus update has failed after timing out.

This is extremely poor - I've never seen such a troublesome update & I've been a beta tester from version 6!

I have a similar problem with 9.2.5 - after installation I have a message that can not run the service (no permissions, etc.). Unfortunately, if I cancel I can no longer run the server at all for lack of required files. This is my first problem with any Kerio update so far - fortunately before the update I always make a snapshot of the virtual machine.

(I use the windows version)

In-place update dont work this time! You have to remove your old installation first (without deleteing config & store) or run the installer twice. The first run fails and remove the old install at the end if they cant start the service.

To prevent incomming mails are unchecked by antivirus first stop the mx/pop3. The antivirus will do a self update after successfully install Kerio again. This takes some time and meanwhile your mx/pop3 is not protected. Just watch the state of antirus and wait for finishing the update and then re-enable your mx/pop3. If you dont like to wait 300 seconds just disable the antivirus and re-enable it. This time the module starts.

The file I use is kerio-connect-9.2.5-3310-p1-win64.exe with 196.686.976 bytes

If you dont like all the trouble just wait for the next release.
The open-folder bug seems to be fixed.

Regards
Andreas

I will wait for another version - I do not want to do unnecessary problems. So far, every update has passed without any problems so I hope this is a single case and not a new trend Smile

I used the same installer version - using Windows Server 2012 R2
