We have tested our IP on and it has detected an open resolver DNS configuration.
We would like to fix that.
Our setup is:
- Kerio Control as firewall.
- Windows Server 2012 R2 as domain controller and therefore as DNS server.
- Kerio Control is connected to the AD.
- Let's say our local IP range is
- Let's say VPN connections range is

The first question is if this issue should be resolved at firewall level (Kerio Control configuration) or at DNS server level (WinSrv DNS config).
Currently, on Kerio Control, the DNS forwarding service is enabled. I am guessing this is needed by VPN clients to correctly resolve hostnames to our local network, and vice-versa. But I may be wrong.
On the Windows Server DNS configuration, DNS recursion is not disabled.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may help me to fix this open dns resolver and at the same time, keep VPN connections running smoothly.
