We have issues when employees use parentheses in a filename and attach it to an email. The recipient receives the attachment, but the filename has been deleted after the first parentheses and the file extension removed.

This issue not only happens when sending from both Mac Outlook 2011 and Mac Outlook 2016 versions, but also when sending from Kerio Connect webmail. Other email providers, like GMAIL and SBCGLOBAL, also change the file name differently if parentheses are used in the file name.

Sender Examples of Original File Name:
Multiple Family - "Carry".docx
October Multiplier - "Steve".docx
Weekly WXJ "Your Choice" Radio - Rev Final.docx

Recipient Examples of Changed File Name:
Multiple Family -
October Multiplier -
Weekly WXJ

Am I simply overlooking something? Are there specific rules to using parentheses in email attachments so I can inform our staff?

Thank you...

Same issue here but only via WebMail.

No problem when using Apple Mail.

Even a draft created in Apple Mail and sent via Webmail works flawless.

Sent via Apple Mail (Test - "Test".xls) -> (Test - "Test".xls)
Draft crated vie Apple Mail and sens via WebMail (Test - "Test".xls) -> (Test - "Test".xls)
Sent via WebMail (Test - "Test".xls) -> (Test -)

Cheers
