I ran into a problem which took me a long time to figure out so I thought I would post it here.

My environment is the 9.2.3 Kerio Connect version running on Windows 2008 R2 server. Client machines are Windows 7 with Outlook 2016 using ActiveSync to connect to Kerio. The reason we use ActiveSync is it allows fast searches through massive amounts of email, something the Kerio connector has not been able to provide.

Kerio Connect lists each ActiveSync device per user under "More Actions -> Mobile devices".

The problem arises if you set up Outlook 2016 with ActiveSync and have roaming profiles enabled in Windows. If I log onto Computer1 and let Outlook finish syncing, then log off and log onto Computer2, Outlook will show "All folders are up to date" even if the local ost file is completely empty.

When you look at Kerio's "Mobile Devices" list you see only a single Outlook 2016 client. The roaming Outlook profile is treated as the same device no matter what computer you log on to! This is a design flaw from Microsoft, not Kerio.

The way to fix this is to shut off roaming profiles, delete the duplicate Outlook profiles on the machines that don't sync properly, and recreate the Outlook profiles. After I did this I saw Kerio listed two Mobile Devices as Outlook 2016, one from Computer1 and one from Computer2, and they had different IDs. Everything then worked properly.
