We've used Spamcop checking for a long time and it's been fine, but now someone's emails are being rejected because Connect thinks Spamcop has blacklisted their server. I've checked on the Spamcop site and it reports that the server is not blacklisted. I've also added the IP of their server to the whitelist IP group enabled on the Connect blacklist settings, but the emails are still being rejected. Wondering if anyone has an idea as to why this is happening?

Thanks

How long did the user wait, until the she/he tried to resend the email? From Spamcop FAQ

Quote:

The short answer is that you cannot be removed.

SpamCop automatically handles blocking and unblocking of IP addressess. If SpamCop continues to receive reports of spam originating from the networks you are responsible for, those networks will continue to be listed. If not, then you will be delisted by SpamCop automatically after 24 hours.

If the SpamCop reports that you receive relate only to web-hosting for the spammer, then this does not count toward the blocking list. The email filters consider only complaints of sourcing spam.

It's been happening again, and this time Spamcop is actually reporting the server as blacklisted, so maybe previously I was too late checking it.

But the problem remains of whitelisting messages from people using large email hosting services. You cannot do it by sending IP because there are too many servers, and you probably wouldn't want to do that anyway. And whitelisting by address doesn't override the blacklist check, so what do you do?

I have the same problem. For some reason spam whitelist by ip is not working.

Instead of blocking messages when they are found in the Spamcop blacklist, you could just add a Spam score (e.g. 3.0). You can then use a custom Spam rule to allow certain sender email addresses (or domains).
