Why does the Connect Client not check what Server version it is running on?

I just received the client update to 6.2.7 but our server is and will be for a long time 6.2.5 p3. The 6.2.7 client is not compatible with 6.2.5.

Luckily i got the first update. We have >300 Users and most of them has auto update enabled. Luckily i'm able to block app-update.kerio.com easaly as we are not all in a domain.

The Client update should be depend on the server it is connecting to. Just my five cents.

Bye Andre

It's not related to the server version: I've got the same problem with server 9.2.6 and now with 9.2.7.

Ahh Okay, thats even worse...

You can only shake your head about what GFI is doing. Worst of the worst.

I totally agree.
I've also experienced the same error on some customer's installation: version 9.2.2; 9.2.5p3; 9.2.6 and 9.2.7
Anyway, from log.txt the minimal version is:
[web] CompatibilityDetector: compatible version (minimal client version is 9.2.2.0)

Problems related to this update, to me, are:
- Open/Save attached files (on open, _blank window appear)
- Dock icon disappear
- right mouse button click menu (on text selection) disappear
- developer tools menu are gone
- from settings, "This application" menu is also gone
- unable to logout account
- can't view message source

Submit a ticket to GFI if you haven't already.

We have submitted a ticket & our engineers are working with GFI.

Have you tried printing from the 9.2.7 (12358) client? Also broken!

Not tried printing yet ... but one of my users tried opening attachments ..... new window pops up with _blank (regardless of type of attachement)

Usual standard by GFI

Ian Bugeja from GFI is aware of the issue via my support ticket.

Please submit your own ticket here:

https://www.gfi.com/support/technical-support-form

More tickets = more data = faster fix

Thanks

I also had those problems with the various Client versions noted in this thread. Currently, I am running Kerio Connect Client Version 9.2.7 (12444) (Macintosh) and the problems noted above are fixed (at least on the Mac. Not sure about the Windows client) (tested against Connect 9.2.5p3 and against Connect 9.2.7, and the various beta and RC versions of 9.2.7p1.) I do not recall how I got this build of Connect Client.
