After I had installed the Windows July 2018 Security patches (KB 4338815) on Windows Server 2012 R2, I was not able to restart the Kerio MailServer service.

The service was hanging on stopping. Event log entries were:

Quote:
Closing a TCP socket with local port number 443 in process 3492 is taking longer than expected.

I had entries for each port that is used by Kerio Connect.

Also the Kerio Debug log said:

Quote:
[25/Jul/2018 10:26:26] ProtocolServiceDerives.cpp: Cannot start service HTTPS on port 443, unable to bind service to all addresses
[25/Jul/2018 10:26:26] ProtocolService.cpp: Service HTTPS failed to start

The only solution was to restart the server.

After some research, I found that KB 4338815 has the following known issue:

Quote:
Restarting the SQL Server service may fail occasionally with the error, "Tcp port is already in use".

Microsoft has now issued a fix for this: KB 4338831

I have installed this and now Kerio Service restarts work fine again.
