Hi,

I have an 10.13.6 iMac and latest Kerio Connect running on Windows. Authentication is against MS Active Directory (2008).

I can't set up IMAP mail accounts manually, using the account assistant works. I need however to set up 3 individual IMAP accounts on this one machine and for the life I can't get it to work which is really annoying.

Mac is not connected to AD but standalone, but KC is connected to the AD. Webmail login works fine of course and so do all the other 20+ Macs, it's just with setting up a new account on this machine.

Upon entering the credentials there is a delay of about 30 seconds and then in OS X Mail the window appears where I can check if I want to set up mail and notes. Can't click OK tho, the windows does not go away. Meanwhile, the KC logs spam this:

[06/Sep/2018 16:37:54] IMAP: Authentication failed for user user<_at_>domain.com. Attempt from IP address 192.168.168.135. External authentication service rejected authentication due to invalid password or authentication restriction.

[06/Sep/2018 16:39:52] Failed SMTP login from 192.168.168.135 with SASL method DIGEST-MD5.
[06/Sep/2018 16:39:55] Failed SMTP login from 192.168.168.135 with SASL method CRAM-MD5.
[06/Sep/2018 16:39:55] SMTP server connection from 192.168.168.135 closed after 3 bad commands

Both DIGEST-MD5 and CRAM-MD5 are checked as allowed authentication methods.

what is going on here and how do I get to set up my mail accounts? Thanks!

ok browsed Apple forums, apparently this is a OS X bug. Furthermore I remember remotely that it's not possible to use DIGEST-MD5 and CRAM-MD5 with directory services in Kerio. It seems to be the iMac and not Kerio.
