Hey, KerioConnect community!

We are looking for a communication solution one idea was Microsoft Exchange, but since we are in a Macintosh only environment.
Kerio connect was suggested since we use Apple Open Directory for the Profile Manager and user accounts.

So we downloaded the 30-day trial to give it a test run. The first issue we have, we do not have the ability to log in over the web Client or the Client App won't display any information on our Mojave Macs.

Also, my question is regarding the integration with the macOS and iOS Apps.

Is it possible to show all contact from all users like a shared group where all Customers contacts are located?
Which Messenger App can we us on both macOS and iOS platforms?
Is emails archiving build in plus an option to render out emails as PDF files?
Is it possible to transfer our emails from our Provider to an On-premise Kerio Connect server?
Will Kerio Connect send an email out to the third party when creating an event in the calendar?

Thank you for your input and help!

Official Mojave support should be coming in next version planned release in some weeks time, however, webmail should be transparent of the underlying OS. Does the web client load? is it an authentication issue maybe?

Any messenger app that supports xmpp protocol https://xmpp.org/software/clients.html

Email archiving can send email to a 3rd party mailbox

Transer emails from your provider to the on-premise is possible but you need to verify the capabilities of your provider first, and depending on that build a migration plan.

Kerio Connect has full iCal support so yes it will send event to the 3rd party.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for the feedback.
How does the Email archiver work?
We will need a system that will pull the Email and create a PDF from the Email. Is there a function for this? If not what about a third party App that works on macOS?

Also, we will have to present this to our Management. Does anybody have any good feedback for Cloud vs on Location? Kerio vs MS Exchange anything else that can help on making a decision easier.

If you have the knowledge and at least a 2 Mbit upload rate, a local deployment is no problem. Kerio needs really low RAM or CPU time to run, so a small server is enough. I run with 25 users on a 4 core 4 GB VM (Epyc with 2,3 Ghz base clock) and the system does idle quite a lot. RAM usage is like 2 GB with Windows Server 2012.

So if you set up a small server like the HP Microserver, add some HDD's (NAS ones at least), you can run the server in a VM with ESXi or Hyperv as preconfig Linux. Or install Windows Server with a license. Many ways to do that.

Personally I prefer my own location with a seperate backup, because I can control the data, even if it's a bit more work. I don't really trust the Cloud companies Smile

For the Archive - Kerio saves the msgs on the local folder (all of them) per month and you can let them zip at the end of the month. Also you can select an e-mail address and kerio will save the file locally and send a copy of the mail to that address. This will be a real E-Mail, no PDF.

For Archiving purposes - and here I mean legal ones - you should already use a software for that. That software should archive the mail or convert everything to PDF. Also saving it as auditable, protected file.

    Heres a link to the manual https://manuals.gfi.com/en/kerio/connect/content/server-conf iguration/archiving-and-backup/archiving-in-kerio-connect-11 64.html

You can also send archive emails out to a third party service.
