Hi all,
I've just installed KWF 5.1.8 over a W2k Server with Symantec AntiVirus 8 Corporate (Scan Engine 4.1.0.15). In the 'antivirus' subsection of 'Content Filtering' at the Kerio Admin console, i have it set to 'Scan http and ftp using antivirus: (none)' , but the dot in the 'antivirus running' indicator is green!?

Even more, if i try to select the appropriate plugin for Symantec Antivirus Scan Engine, the console says that 'antivirus engine can not be started, eicar test failed' but Symantec's AV pops up because of the eicar test.

this is a copy of what is posted at the error log:

[19/Dec/2003 17:46:35] (8304:1008) Antivirus plug-in error: Unable to initialize: avir_savi (Error: Cannot initialize SAVI kernel).

I don't get it. :)

If anyone knows why this is happenning or if i shouldn't be 'worried' at all, please let me know.

I'll write back for another problem i'm having with SecuRemote applications once i have more info.

Thanks in advance,
PW

You have to use this version of the Symantec antivirus scan engine: http://enterprisesecurity.symantec.com/products/products.cfm ?ProductID=173

I do not know for certain. My understanding is that the Symantec scan engine requires a separate license from Symantec.
