OK, This is from a complete "newbee".
We now have our mail hosted by a Website Hosting Provider, using POP3 and SMTP, We have approx 40 Email address. I want to leave the Webhosting outside as it is. We own our Domain name and have a static IP address via a T1 Line.
How do I create webmail.ourdomain.com? And then how do I route that to the MX Record, I'm assuming that will have to be pointed to our Static IP Address. I have checked with the Website hosting Co. It looks as if I can change the MX Record, right now it points to inbound.registeredsite.com. I'm just not sure how to register mail.ourdomain.com with DNS so mail can be retrieved.
As of now we have not purchased Kerio, but from all the reading I've been doing it seams this is the way to go. I've heard the overhead with Exchange is to great, we do own MS SBS, but I refuse to use the Exchange, I'm just one person.

Thanks
Rick

if you have a license for Exchange as included with MS SBS then you would be best to use it.

TO update, I have created mail.ourdomain.com. Still have no idea how to point that to the mail server or the Static IP address.

And Yes we own the license to MS SBS. I would be in the same boat there with the ist post.

Thanks

I would also recommend using exchange. I am no microsoft fan but KMS has serious problems and they are not getting fixed. (6months almost since release and it is still V slow and unstable)

Also there is still no offline access to mailboxes

If you don't know enough to setup an A rec for your webmail I suggest asking your ISP to do it.
