I am running KMS 5.7.10 for my company email server. I want to add internal mail which is just for local content (internal mail user can't send to another domain). How can I configure that, when my external mail client exist?

I am also interested in somehow disabling certain users from being able to send email to an external domain.

Can someone please explain how this can be done, as surely it has to be possible.

Thanks

Jason

Good to hear. I have a section of my IP addresses setup as non-local, or not able to relay. That way they can only send internal, but this is not a great method.

How have you set them up as non local. Not able to relay..? By manual assignment of IP address's on individual PC's..?

Thanks for your help.

I manually assign IP addresses to the PCs that I don't want to have relay access.

Then I setup the IP addresses in KMS as two different groups. The one with relay access is setup as Local and I set this one as exempt from the relay rules, e.g. "don't apply restrictions to local group".

The other group of addresses, I don't include in the local group, I called it Local-Non Routing, and then set the restrictions to not allow relaying without authentication. The "Local" group is exempt, the "Local-Non routing" is not. Some laptops that have to access from outside the company and relay are set to authenticate.

Thanks for the information. I will try this on our network once I have some free time.
