I was very pleased with the improvements in the KOC607, but after installation of kms en koc 607, our Outlook 2000 clients can't send mail with mail adresses from its contact or public contact.

Even worse if you double click a contact you get a message that it is corrupt en when you tell to save it again you get a mapi error.

When you type the mail adress yourself it gives no problems.

I have tried to downgrade tot 606 but that had no change at all, outlook keeps reporting corrupt contacts.

Can somebody help me QUICK, I am becomming sick of the KOC.

Another bloody annoying thing is the damn graphic that you use when you load the admin monitor - over remote desktops this takes an age to load up, and I cant click any other button to bypass this.

Please let me choose where I want to place the loading screen it will definately not be on this page!!!

Well I switched the service back on manually and started is up - says I now have 6.0.7 installed, but my spam assasin is no longer working.

Absolute crap. I am so mad I may go back to using Imail.

I don't understand where is the problem. Go to Tools/Options and disable spalsh screen.
I also suggest to administer KMS remotely via the Administration Console, it's much faster than via remote desktop.

I seems the KMS service did not shutdown properly before the upgrade or some other program blocked access to this file.
What was the origin version? What OS?

Hi,

I do have the splash screen switched off, it is not this splash screen which is the issue it is the way that the program starts in the top folder "Kerio Mailserver" there is a graphic there that shows you details of the installation. License ID - Users etc.

This is the one that takes an age to load. I would prefer is this was just text or have the ability to load into another opening screen.

I prefer to do this via Remote desktops.

Original version was 6.0.6 on win 2003 - I actually turned of the service but the but had the console opened it asked me to switch this off and try again which i did then it failed with the error i gave earlier.

I download the full 6.0.7 from the website which gives the same error - I probably ned to do a complete unistall and start again as my spam assasin is now not working at all.

what is the problem with installing the console program on youw workstation to connect to the KMS remotely ? that way, you don't have to transmit all that useless data over your line.
Just open up you config port on your FW and for sec. reasons only admit your ip to connect to that port.
instal the console, and you're set to go.. Much better then over Rdesktop or whatever remote managing tool.

Yeah and whats the problem with enabling people who use Remote Desktops a better user experience by being able to customise the admin console.

I know how to adminster Kerio through the console but as I wrote:

I prefer to do this via Remote desktops.

The reasons are that when I am adminstering Kerio I also check up on a variety of other goings on within the server. So I am in RD's all the time.

Seems a lot of deflecting around the isues within this forum instead of giving concrete solutions to known bugs and customer annoyances.

I also do it using Terminal Services, because:

1) I can't make a VPN connection (it is not allowed from where I administer
it), thus I can't get the UDP traffic (on port 44337) that originates from
KMS - the updates to the logs.

2) Administering it over the Internet is insecure. Terminal Services
encrypts the connection, so no one can snoop on your password.

Having said that the initial screen is not very slow. It takes maybe 10
seconds. Maybe you can change some settings on Terminal Services? I have
mine set to a "Modem 56 k" connection, even though it is broadband. I also
have "Themes" and "Bitmap caching" on, everything else off.

Administration of KMS over the Internet from the Administration Console is secure too and also uses encryption, probably it's more secure than Terminal Services. No one can catch your password.

This is not a debate on whether one way is better to connect they are all good.

For me 10 seconds is toooooo long to load a graphic, that doesnt need to be there.

The initial issues was that when I tried to upgrade it F**ked up and now I have lost my spam assasin and I have no response from Kerio on this matter just simply saying "oh it must have been some file that got in the way."

That is good to hear, however the second issue with the "back" 44337/UDP
traffic is insurmountable when you are sitting behind a firewall you don't
control, plus I would bet this traffic is not encrypted.

Is there a problem with the 6.0.7 and Linux ???
