We're having a bit of trouble with Spam-Eliminator and mailing list... we tend to have to set the Spam-Elimnator settings down to 3.5 to catch most of the spam, and its causing a lot of false positives.
Most of the false-positives are tracked to the FAKE-HELO scores
(DEFAULT SCORES (local, net, with bayes, with bayes+net))
score FAKE_HELO_AOL 1.916 1.875 1.788 2.354
score FAKE_HELO_HOTMAIL 1.172 0 2.335 1.499
score FAKE_HELO_LYCOS 2.900 2.800 2.800 1.355
score FAKE_HELO_MAIL_COM 4.113 3.526 3.705 3.769
score FAKE_HELO_MAIL_RU 2.033 1.859 2.462 0.473
score FAKE_HELO_MSN 0.700 1.883 1.576 0.319
score FAKE_HELO_NETSCAPE_COM 0.583 1.133 2.078 1.817
score FAKE_HELO_SHAW_CA 0.298 0.904 2.800 0.585
score FAKE_HELO_USA_NET 2.800 2.800 2.696 2.488
score FAKE_HELO_YAHOO 1.871 0 2.696 2.599
What exactly ARE the fake_helo scores?
If we wanted to change them, would we modify the 50_scores.cf?
How do I know if the Spam-Eliminator is using the Bayes?

I looked at Spam Assassin's website and it looks like that test verifies the IP address supplied during the initial negotiation between the sending and recieving SMTP server is the same as the IP address supplied when reverse DNS is performed on the host name the SMTP server says it is sending from. This link lists short explainations for the Spam Assassin tests: http://useast.spamassassin.org/tests.html
