Dear all,
I want to get an inpression what kind of KMS environments are around and how they perform. Please share some information like:
  • Server: hardware + OS
  • How many domains
  • How many mailboxes, total combined mailbox size, what are the biggest ones and how do they perform, and what is approx the average mailboxsize
  • Are you satisfied with the performance of this configuration and usage

Thanx!
Dr.Bob
(not using KMS yet, so no specs of my own)

Dell PowerEdge 2600 Dual 2.8Ghz Xeon Processors, 4G RAM
RedHat ES 3.0

1 domain

161 mailboxes, 32G of email total, largest mailbox is probably 2G and performs great. Average mailbox size is probably 300M.

I'm satisfied with performance especially with 6.0.8. Earlier version of 6.x.x had performance issues and a lot of memory leaks. 6.1 promises to have even better performance with webmail and KOC. So, I'm really looking forward to that. However, my server I would say is a little overkill for my number of users and email with KMS. So, any performance issues I would say are with KMS and not the specs on my server.

There is a lot of bashing of KMS on this forum, but it is really an outstanding product. If you consider how many platforms it runs on and what all KMS offers, it amazes me.

Hope this helps a little,
BP
