Hello,
Lately I have seen many of these errors in the log:

[25/Apr/2005 06:53:36] Last message repeated 3 times
[25/Apr/2005 06:56:34] POP3 server connection broken (user from x.x.x.x): (10054) An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

When this happens the users all get time-outs when trying to connect. Waiting for a random number of minutes (sometimes) works and resetting the mailserver always solves it. I cannto find any trace though why this happens so if anybody has a clue?
Many thanks!
Dries

The messages are not neccessarily related.

The "Last message repeated # times" is just a FYI that the same message was logged # times and instead of logging each one separately kms groups them after recording the original message and states that the message was repeated.

The pop3 server connection broken... was forcibly closed may mean that the pop client didn't end the conversation correctly.

You can replicate this by telneting to your mailserver on port 110, authenticating, run a few pop3 commands and then killing the telnet session. In the logs you will see the same error or very similar.

What OS, KMS version, and mail client are you using?
